Earth Day

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  (Genesis 1:1)

Have you ever looked at a sunset over a forested wildland or up at the stars glittering in the night sky, or witnessed a small bird flutter in the wind, if you’re anything like me you will find yourself in awe of what you see, and even more so you will find yourself in awe of Him who you do not see yet, God.

God created the whole world, He spoke, and the stars formed, the planets took shape, the first animal twitched an ear, and man, made in the image of God Himself, was given the breath of life.

God could have created a grey world flat and lifeless, with nothing more than dust, and we would not have known the difference, so why did God make the world so wonderful.

The Holy Spirit writing through Paul said.

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

(Romans 1:19-20)

God made the world because He wanted to show us His power and His divine nature. God wants us to believe in Him.

Why would God want us to believe in Him? He is God after all, He is all-powerful and, in an instant, can do anything He wants. Why would He want to know us?

                                                                     It’s simple He loves us.

He loves us so much that He wants us to know who He is.

But yet we break God’s rules, He gave us creation as evidence and still we have all sinned, everyone has broken His rules, because of this everyone must be judged.

God is a righteous judge, and He punishes those who break His law with hell.

God is so perfect, and His standard is so high that no one by good works and following the law of God will ever make it to heaven. Our good works can never pay even a fraction of the debt we owe, the price for our sins. The cost is too high.

We were all doomed to hell

but yet God had a plan,

a plan to redeem His creation,

                                                                          the apple of His eye,

                                                                                            you.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:16)

God’s only son, Jesus Christ came to earth, God Himself, came to earth. And more than this Jesus died for us. Jesus loves you so much that He paid the ultimate price, your debt, so that you might spend eternity with Him and the Father.

And all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ, and trust that His death has paid the price of your sins. And that now Jesus has risen from the dead, proving that He is God Himself, and has returned to heaven He is preparing a place for us.

And one day He will come to gather those who believe and then we will join Him in the new earth and the new heaven, a place where there is no suffering, no pain, only love.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

(Genesis 1:2)

The Holy Spirit like at creation is hovering, but now He is hovering over you, Jesus is knocking on the very door of your heart, the Father is calling you to join Him, will you accept?
